Hi,
So I have just dual booted the latest version of ubuntu (14.04) on my late 2011 macbook pro, and have noticed a few problems that I would love to get fixed.
My macbook has the Intel 3000/AMD graphics drivers, with automatic switching. The problem is games seem to run a LOT choppier on ubuntu then they do on the mac side of my computer. A good example: I run a small minecraft server, and get around 30fps on the mac side, and around 5fps in ubuntu (which makes it quite unplayable). My computer also tends to run a LOT hotter in ubuntu, even if I'm barely doing anything.
Is this because the automatic graphics switching doesn't work in ubuntu? I didn't install the MAC version if that matters (I could only get the non-mac version to install using a thumb drive). Under additional drivers, I see support for my AMD card (using X. ORG X server), but none for my intel card.
I would love some support if possible. I'm very new to ubuntu, so as simple as you can make it would be amazing.
Thank you so much,
Jared
