[ubuntu] Ubuntu versions

Hi,

I'm triple booting my Macbook pro 8,1 version 10.7.5 with windows 7 and Ubuntu.
i was just wondering whether i can install whatever version of ubuntu or i need the version of ubuntu that goes with my MBR model?
