So theres a lot of issues with macbooks and linux, atleast that I'm experiencing. Here is a list of some stuff I need help with
Lots of other small issues and a plethora of annoying things that generally don't work.. Does anyone else have such a hard time on linux with similar hardware? its crazy that so many things to do work or function at all. Any help is greatly appreciated. Also, before you ask: There is no OSX on this at all. my OSX partition died out, and I wiped the entire machine (Including recovery OSX things) with linux mint. So for now, I am stuck with linux. Please help!
- Very bad overheating / loud fans. Can't really find a proper way to control fanspeed
- When I turn off compositing, keyboard icons such as screen brightness do not work. Just a small black box
- EFI booting means that the NVIDIA drivers will not work. I get a black screen upon reboot. I am forced to use NOUVEAU, which is less than ideal.
- No wi-fi at all. Just doesn't seem to pick it up, tried different drivers, nothing
- Touchpad mayhem. In the mouse settings, none of the settings I try even affect the touchpad. The acceleration is out of control, and I have no idea how to change it. Just generally feels like ****.
- No clue how to change between the two graphics on my macbook, it has NVIDIA 330M as well as INTEL HD, I've tried 'Bumblebee' but it gives black screen upon reboot.
