How do I dual-boot Ubuntu on my MacBook Air (2014 model)?

I did just fine doing it on my Windows 10 desktop (with a hard drive installed) via a USB flash drive (Universal USB installer helped), but I don't know how to do it on my MacBook Air. I heard that you go to Disk Utility, create a partition and you go from there. However, I don't know how to do that on OS X. Any tips on how to do it easily on a Mac? I thought about doing a 32GB partition for Ubuntu, by the way. Keep in mind, I have OS X Yosemite installed, with 4Gs of RAM and a 128GB SSD.
