Hello,
So im thinking of boosting my Mac Pro 1,1 cpu, up the RAM to 32GB from 9GB, and switch out the video card, Im running 14.04 ONLY. My question is: Because of the Mac Pro platform do I have to use Mac compatible hardware? Or could I use any PC5300 DDR2 RAM, PCI-e Video Card, and LGA 771 Socket processor? My understanding is, as along as Ubuntu can read it and the hardware is compatible with the motherboard I should be fine. Anyone have any experience with this?
