LINK TO MACBOOK SPECS
I installed Ubuntu 14.04 on my Macbook 2010 a few days ago from an install CD i found laying around my dads office. I really didnt like OSX so i said why not. It worked fine for the first few minutes of running it, but after that, it seems to completely freeze up, excluding the mouse. The computer freezes, not letting me click on anything that is going on. I use this computer for school so I need it to work for more than 5 minutes at a time. Above I linked the specs to my computer. They are as is, and I have not modified anything internally. I don't have any important data on it, so if a HD wipe is an idea that might work, please feel free to suggest it.
My second problem is that the graphics are slightly buggy. On boot up, where it would display the Ubuntu logo, it just has a jumbled mess of purlple/black/white/orangle lines. THIS IS WHAT IT IS. It does a similar thing when I get to the actual desktop. Terminal lines will look similar to this, and so does everything else.
