Greetings all, first time poster here new to linux.
I'm trying to get Precise Pangolin installed on a secondhand G5 PPC iMac for the purposes of running 3d printer software for my Reprap. I've installed Ubuntu on a G4 iMac before without issues, but am running into a problem with the G5. The installer runs fine, and then when I go to boot, it hangs up with an error message about the Airport wireless b43 firmware not being installed. I found documentation to "get" the files, but have no way of deploying them since I can't get into the command line because it doesn't finish booting, it just gets hung up at the error message.
Can someone help?
I'd like to thank in advance anyone who will take the time to help a linux noob surmount what is probably something very obvious to anyone who has touched linux before. I apologize if I'm fundamentally misunderstanding things about how linux works and/or how packages are deployed, but I'm here, and I want to learn.
Cheers!
