I am trying to run the ubuntu 12 live cd on my early 2008 macbook.
My macbook 4,1 (early 2008), has a 2.1 ghz intel core 2 duo, and an intel gma x3100 graphics card. I installed refit with no problems.
However, after I choose the linux icon, I immediately get a black screen with a white cursor. The cd winds down and then nothing. No response. I've left it for as long as two hours.
I can't modify boot parameters as the machine will not respond to any keystrokes. I have to power the machine down and restart. Thankfully after the restart, I am able to use refit to boot mac osx just fine.
Does anyone know why I can't boot the live cd?? Any help would be much appreciated.
