install ubuntu on mac mini intel core duo

I am trying to install Ubuntu on my mac mini without success. I was able to make a ubuntu usb which I can boot just fine on my Mac Pro but I can't get it to boot on my mini.

I am getting a "non-system disk" error when i select it from the refit menu... Can anyone help ?
