I just tried to use the download page
http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop
I want to download a 64-bit, but no matter which Ubuntu Desktop version or 32/64, the same thing happens. The download seems to start in the usual way, and I see an icon move from the Ubuntu webpage into my downloads window. But it looks like the download instantly aborts, instead of completing the process. The icon that appears in my downloads window is marked with an "x" at its upper left corner.
Could anyone advise me on what this means?
I am going by the installation tutorial that I found here:
http://osxdaily.com/2012/03/27/insta...ux-virtualbox/
OK, I just did not wait long enough. I checked again, and the download has completed.
