[SOLVED] Where's the hash tag?

Alt + 3 doesn't work in Ubuntu on my MBPr it just gives this ³
How can I get a hash tag? I've adjusted keyboard layout so that the left Alt gives 3rd layer output but this didn't help.
Any ideas? Thanks.
