[xubuntu] Xubuntu shuts down after suspend, open lid

Hi all,

I recently installed Xubuntu 13.10 on my mid 2011 MacBook Air and am experiencing problems with suspend. When I suspend, close the lid, and then reopen after a while, the spinning logo appears and my machine shuts down.

Any thoughts?
