I just installed XUbuntu 12.04 LTS on my circa 2010 27" iMac desktop. The install went without issue, except for two issues.
The main issue is that the primary display is black or off. On startup, the bootloaders show up on the primary display, but once it gets to the splash screen it is outputting only to the secondary display. The secondary display is an LCD monitor connected via a Displayport->DVI adapter. The XFCE Display settings correctly detects both displays and their native resolutions, however the primary 27" display is always blank/off despite the system thinking its outputting to both.
A secondary issue is that the system hangs on the splash screen during restart or shutdown. I suspect this will be an easier issue to correct, though ultimately less important.
Any suggestions?
