Hi all, I am having a weird problem on my MacBook Pro (9,2) with Ubuntu 13.10.
After fresh installation, everything worked fine. Then I decided to put on other desktop environment, such as GNOME 3 or Xfce 4. Then problem happened.
This problem has been puzzling me for the past week and I still had no clue.
Can someone help me?
My MacBook Pro is a mid 2012 version with Intel HD4000 graphics card.
After fresh installation, everything worked fine. Then I decided to put on other desktop environment, such as GNOME 3 or Xfce 4. Then problem happened.
- If I installed GNOME 3, and I selected GNOME or GNOME Classic as the session, then I got nothing but a mouse cursor after login. If I killed the Xorg or rebooted, and chose Ubuntu (Unity), I got the same problem. In other words, if I tried GNOME or GNOME Classic once, I got an "empty" desktop with only the mouse cursor, no matter what session (desktop environment) I selected (Unity, GNOME3 or GNOME Classic).
- If I installed Xfce4 (from another fresh installation), I had a little luck. I could log into xfce every time without any problem. But, I could only log into Unity once. After reboot, empty desktop with only the mouse cursor was what I got for Unity.
This problem has been puzzling me for the past week and I still had no clue.
