Hey guys! Recently I picked up a late 2005 2.0ghz dual core G5. It has 8gb of ram, 500gb of storage and an Nvidia Fx 4500 quardo card. I was able to get get Ubuntu installed from a cd but noticed that on the desktop, that the icons where white squares instead of actual logos. I thought that once the installation was done i could get the drivers required for my card and all would be good.... I was wrong, after the install was completed amd the system restarted, ubuntu asked if i wanted to upgrade to 14.04 lts. I figured why not since it more than likely has better graphics support. After the update started and the computer reset, a new issue occured. Right after the Ubuntu loading screen, the screen goes to a super pixalated and blocky screen. I have no way to see anything except for orange blocks. My question is, how do I go about fixing this? I just want to get Ubuntu to run so moothly and without a hitch! All responses are welcome amd needed! Thank you guys and gals!
