I followed directions for disabling SIP and installing refind - both went well without issue.
also, made 1 partition for Linux while in OS X, per tutorial, saying partitions can be set up later. so far OK.
rebooted mac holding alt, selected Ubuntu install disk (which I know works; installed single boot on other mac) and began installation procedure.
Lots of complaining that I hadn't made swap space, still proceeded, installer got to setting up file system and got stuck there for an hour before I forced shut down.
Any clues how to get this to go correctly?
Thank you!
